U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik was recognized as Congresswoman of the Year by the New York State Young Republicans during the group’s annual convention.

Stefanik, who represents New York’s 21st Congressional District and serves as House Republican Conference chair, said she was honored to receive the award and thanked the organization for its work supporting GOP candidates across the state.

Bobby Walker, president of the New York State Young Republicans, said Stefanik has been a strong supporter of the group and praised her decision to remain in Congress rather than accept a cabinet nomination.
