Emergency crews respond to the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a New York State Police trooper in Broome County, New York.

A New York State Trooper was injured Friday morning after a vehicle failed to yield and collided with the patrol car in the Town of Union.

State Police say the crash happened around 8:10 a.m. along State Route 17C near Chaumont Drive. A Toyota Camry attempted to make a left turn into the Town of Union office building parking lot and did not yield the right of way, striking the westbound Trooper’s vehicle.

The Trooper suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.

The driver of the Camry, a 69-year-old woman, was also transported to the hospital as a precaution.

One westbound lane of Route 17C was briefly closed during the investigation.
