New York State Police are investigating an apparent suicide that occurred Friday morning inside an administrative building at the Marcy Correctional Facility in Oneida County.

Troopers say that around 8:05 a.m., the 55-year-old man employed by the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Hadian had recently returned to work following a medical leave.

Investigators say no foul play is suspected. A handwritten note was recovered at the scene and is being translated as part of the ongoing investigation.

The body was transported to the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office for examination, and next of kin have been notified.

The case is being handled by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, in cooperation with DOCCS. The department’s Critical Incident Stress Management Team has been deployed to provide support for staff at the facility.
