The recent wave of fake threats to high schools and colleges across the state is prompting calls for the FBI to launch a full investigation.

U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer stopped in Brockport Wednesday, urging the FBI to investigate the “swatting” calls. He called the instances traumatizing for not only students, teachers, and parents, but for everyone.

Schumer wants the federal government to give New York police 10-million dollars to help fight the problem.

“Swatting” is when a phone call or false report is made in order to evoke a police or SWAT team response.
