The Southern Tier Chapter of the American Red Cross will host its annual Military and Veteran Resource BBQ in Elmira.

The free event on August 16th (Saturday) is open to active and retired service members and their families and will take place at Eldridge Park’s large shelter near the carousel. Doors open at 11 a.m., with the program beginning at noon. This event is part of the Red Cross’s Service to the Armed Forces program, connecting military families with supportive resources and regional providers.

This year’s keynote speaker is retired U.S. Air Force Colonel Phillip Waite, who now serves as Managing Director of the Vietnam Veterans of America.

Space is limited, and if you plan on going, you must RSVP by Thursday, August 14, by calling Lisa Taibi at 716-387-9135 or emailing [email protected].
