According to a new Marist Poll, Governor Kathy Hochul is facing skepticism from New York voters.

Just 39% of respondents said they approve of Hochul’s job performance, while 46% disapproved and 16% were undecided. The poll also revealed that 57% of voters oppose her seeking re-election in 2026.

The survey also gauged public sentiment toward New York’s U.S. senators. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer saw a dip in support, with only 34% of registered voters rating his performance as excellent or good.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand received mixed reviews as well—36% rated her job performance as excellent or good, 42% said it was fair or poor, and 22% were unsure.
