Poll: Majority of NYers Call Migrant Influx a Serious Problem

The Statue of Liberty, a symbol of freedom and democracy, stands in New York Harbor.

The majority of New Yorkers say the recent influx of migrants to the state is a serious problem.

That’s according to a Siena College Research Institute poll where 82% of those surveyed, including a majority of Democrats, Republicans, and independents agree it’s a concern.

The majority of those in the Empire State also say it’s time to slow the flow of migrants.

When it comes to moving them from the Big Apple to permanent housing communities across the state, Democrats and those in the city support the decision while Republicans are against this idea. Independents and non-city voters are divided on the issue but lean towards opposition.
