A 1977 Dodge Ramcharger that was reported stolen in 1981 has been found at the bottom of a river in Onondaga County.

Last Sunday, a fisherman using sonar spotted a shadow of a pickup truck in the Seneca River off Wetzel Road in Liverpool. The Sheriff’s Office was contacted and with the help of its Navigation Unit and Dive Team found the truck in 20 feet of water. Due to its many years of exposure, the truck had deteriorated and sunk in the mud, making removal difficult.

When the vehicle will be removed has yet to be determined.

A license plate was recovered and it was found the pickup truck was reported stolen to the town of Clay Police Department.
