The deadline to apply for the New York State Police Entrance exam is quickly approaching.
So far applications to take the exam have surpassed 10,000.
Minimum requirements for the exam include being a US citizen, having a High School diploma or equivalent, and being between 20-34 years of age. (The maximum age may be extended one year for each year of full-time active military duty – up to a maximum of 7 years.) Additional requirements can be found on the state police’s website.
The deadline to apply is Sunday, October 1.
Candidates can learn about becoming a New York State Trooper and sign up to take the exam at JoinStatePolice.ny.gov.
