The Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program (FLYAP) will hold its annual “Signing Day” for the Genesee Valley BOCES – Batavia Campus at Genesee Community College on Thursday in the college’s BEST Center.

Nearly three dozen students from the electromechanical and metal trades programs are signing up for paid co-ops and job shadows at ten advanced manufacturing companies throughout the region. FLYAP was created by the Rochester Technology and Manufacturing Association in partnership with Monroe Community College.

Thursday’s ceremony begins at 5 p.m.

The Finger Lakes Youth Apprenticeship Program has connected more than 650 students to nearly 150 companies throughout the greater Rochester and Finger Lakes region since its inception in 2018. FLYAP is the only advanced manufacturing youth apprenticeship program in New York State.
