Comments made by a State Supreme Court justice at a high school graduation party in 2022 have prompted the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct to call for her removal from the bench.

Not only did the Commission find that Erin Gall, justice for the Fifth Judicial District Oneida County, acted inappropriately, but then tried to influence police who responded by using her position as a judge.

According to a report from WSYR-TV, Gall was shown on police body cam footage threatening to shoot a group of Black teenagers if they returned to her friend’s property.

Gall has one month to appeal the decision.
