A Sullivan County woman has been charged with criminally negligent homicide in connection with the death of a two-year-old boy in Sullivan County last month.

The child was located inside a vehicle parked in an apartment complex lot at around 6:45 on the evening of July 16th suffering from cardiac arrest. Antonio Suarez was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation revealed Suarez was left unattended in the car for more than four hours and died because of hypothermia.

In addition to criminally negligent homicident, State Police charged 33-year-old Sarah Carter, of Monticello, on Thursday with endangering the welfare of a child. Following arraignment, Carter was sent to Sullivan County Jail.

Carter’s relationship with Suaarez was not disclosed by investigators.
