A Bronx man was arrested in Yates County after deputies say he refused to cooperate during a traffic stop on State Route 14A in Milo.

According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, deputies stopped a vehicle after observing it operating with a suspended registration. During the stop, deputies allege 28-year-old Chase Fendrich moved from the driver’s seat into the passenger seat of the vehicle.

Authorities said Fendrich then refused to identify himself or exit the vehicle while deputies attempted to conduct their investigation.

Following the investigation, Fendrich was charged with driving while intoxicated, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, operating a vehicle with a suspended registration, and operating without insurance.

Deputies said Fendrich also refused to submit to a chemical test.

He was transported to the Yates County Jail to await arraignment through the county’s centralized arraignment process.

The charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
