The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office Police Benevolent Association and the Seneca County Board of Supervisors have reached a new collective bargaining agreement.

The agreement was announced Monday following negotiations between county officials and the union representing Sheriff’s Office employees. Specific terms of the contract were not immediately released.

In a statement, the PBA said the agreement recognizes the dedication, professionalism, and service provided by members of the Sheriff’s Office while also supporting the long-term interests of Seneca County and its residents.

Union officials described the contract as the result of productive discussions and a collaborative effort between both sides.

Seneca County Board of Supervisors Chairman Michael Enslow said the agreement demonstrates what can be achieved when both parties focus on finding common ground.

“Our Sheriff’s Office employees provide an essential service to the residents of Seneca County, and this contract recognizes their dedication while remaining responsible to taxpayers,” Enslow said.

Both the county and the PBA said they appreciate the professionalism displayed throughout the negotiation process and expressed optimism about continuing their working relationship.
