A Savannah woman was seriously injured Monday morning after a rock crashed through the windshield of a vehicle traveling in Ontario County.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 8:31 a.m. to the area of State Routes 5 and 20 and Seneca Castle Road in the Town of Seneca, along with members of the Seneca Castle and Stanley fire departments and Mercy Flight Ambulance.
Investigators determined that a vehicle operated by 49-year-old Rebecca Bocyck, of Oswego, was traveling westbound on Routes 5 and 20 when a large rock was dislodged from the roadway by an unknown vehicle.
Deputies say the rock struck the windshield and entered the passenger compartment, hitting 69-year-old Jacqueline Bocyck, of Savannah, in the head.
Jacqueline Bocyck was transported by Mercy Flight Ambulance to Mercy Flight Central’s base before being airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment.
