A Penn Yan woman is facing a child endangerment charge after police say a three-year-old child wandered away from a home and into a local business alone.

Penn Yan Police say officers responded to a store after the child entered, looking for their parents.

Investigators say the child had been in the care of 24-year-old Angel Conley when the child left the residence, crossed two streets, and entered the store unattended.

Police located the child’s father and safely returned the child to him.

Conley was issued an appearance ticket for endangering the welfare of a child and is scheduled to appear in Penn Yan Village Court at a later date.
