The Genesee Transportation Council, the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region, has released the full draft Long Range Transportation Plan for the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region 2050, along with the associated Transportation Air Conformity Statement, for final public review and comment through Tuesday.

The plan is intended to establish transportation priorities and strategic direction for the nine-county Genesee-Finger Lakes region, including Yates, Ontario, Seneca, and Wayne counties. Federal, state, and local governments will use the LRTP 2050 to guide transportation investment decisions over the next 25 years.

According to GTC, the full draft plan is based on an assessment of the current transportation system, emerging issues and opportunities, recommendations, and community feedback gathered throughout the planning process. In addition to transportation recommendations, the draft includes a financial plan outlining projected revenues to implement the plan and performance measures to evaluate progress.

As part of the transportation planning process, GTC has also prepared a draft Transportation Conformity Statement for LRTP 2050 and the 2026-2030 Transportation Improvement Program. Officials say the statement demonstrates that the region’s transportation improvements are not expected to worsen air quality.

The draft plan and conformity statement can be reviewed online at publicinput.com/gtc_lrtp2050. Those unable to access the materials online may contact the GTC office at 585-232-6240 to make other arrangements.
