Thirteen months after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Metro Mattress Corp. is preparing to close its remaining stores, marking the end of the bedding retailer’s brick-and-mortar operations in 2025.

The company, headquartered in Syracuse, disclosed in a court filing that efforts to find a buyer or strategic partner were unsuccessful after 21 attempts.

At its peak, Metro Mattress operated 70 locations across New York and four New England states. Following its September 2024 bankruptcy filing, the company had already planned to close about two dozen stores and focus on its New York locations. As part of the final wind-down, stores in Auburn, Ithaca, Geneva, and Canandaigua will close.
