A Town of Marion man was arrested following a reported traffic complaint investigation in Wayne County.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested 35-year-old Jorge De Jesus Bello on charges of driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08% or higher, and an open container violation.

Authorities said the investigation began after a concerned citizen reported that De Jesus Bello was driving erratically and may have struck another vehicle, prompting a 911 call.

Following an investigation, deputies determined De Jesus Bello had allegedly been operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was taken into custody and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, where he voluntarily submitted to a chemical test.

Officials said the test showed a blood alcohol content of .15%.

De Jesus Bello was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Marion Town Court at a later date to answer the charges.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
