Firefighters Extinguish Shed Fire in Yates County

A shed fire in the Town of Jerusalem remains under investigation after emergency crews responded Saturday morning to a property on East Bluff Drive.

According to the Yates County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 8:41 a.m. to 9675 East Bluff Drive for a reported structure fire involving a shed. Deputies responded alongside the Branchport and Benton fire departments, Yates County Office of Emergency Management, and Penn Yan Ambulance.

Authorities said the shed on the north side of the property was filled with heavy smoke when crews arrived. Firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the interior of the shed.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
