Ithaca College will hold its free Commencement Eve Concert on Saturday, May 16, at 8:30 p.m. in Glazer Arena at the Athletics and Events Center, followed by a fireworks display.
The concert is open to the public. This year’s theme is “Together We Rise,” featuring student ensembles and soloists from the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance. Mike Titlebaum, director of Jazz Studies and professor of music performance, will direct the concert.
The performance will feature the Ithaca College Symphony Orchestra, Choir, and Jazz Ensemble, along with the Meteor Quintet. Senior student soloists Julia Wolff, Kaden Hawkins, and Noah Schuster are also scheduled to perform.
The program includes Jacob Collier’s choral opus “World O World,” the West African folk tale “Anansi the Spider,” selections from *West Side Story* and *Company*, “Sweet Georgia Brown,” and “Rainbow Connection.” The concert will conclude with the alma mater, “Ithaca Forever.”
There will be no open public dress rehearsal on Friday night this year; community members are invited to attend the Saturday concert instead.
Ithaca College’s 131st Commencement ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 17, at 10 a.m. in Glazer Arena. More information is available at ithaca.edu/commencement.
