Students at West Street School will take to the streets Friday morning for the school’s annual Flag Day Parade.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. and serves as an opportunity for students to learn about citizenship, patriotism, and the history of the American flag.

Flag Day is observed each year on June 14 to commemorate the adoption of the United States flag in 1777. School officials say the annual event helps students reflect on the symbols, traditions, and values that unite communities.

The parade route will begin on West Street and continue along High Street, Nursery Avenue, and William Street before returning to the school.

Families, neighbors, and community members are encouraged to line the route and support students as they take part in the longstanding tradition.
