A popular Central New York fundraising event is returning this weekend after a seven-year hiatus, bringing more than 200 women together for a night of celebration and support for local cancer patients.

CNY Mom Prom will be held Saturday evening at Vernon Downs Hotel in Vernon, featuring guests dressed in prom gowns, formalwear, and vintage attire for a night of dancing, music, raffles, photo opportunities, and community connection.

Organizers say the sold-out event marks the return of one of the region’s most recognizable women’s fundraising gatherings. Proceeds will benefit the Oneida Health Foundation Cancer Care Fund, which provides financial assistance to local cancer patients and families.

The fund helps cover essential expenses for patients undergoing treatment, including groceries, transportation, co-pays, and other out-of-pocket medical costs.

Event organizers say media are encouraged to attend between 5 and 6 p.m. for interviews and visuals, including the packed dance floor, themed décor, and attendee participation in the evening’s activities.

CNY Mom Prom is scheduled for Saturday, May 16 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Vernon Downs Hotel, located at 4229 Stuhlman Road in Vernon.
