Two Clyde parents have pleaded not guilty after being indicted in connection with the alleged abuse of their six-week-old twins.
Camron Douglas and Brittany Spicer were each indicted this month on two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of reckless assault of a child, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Douglas was also indicted on an additional count of second-degree assault.
Douglas entered a not guilty plea during a court appearance on May 15 and was sent back to Wayne County Jail without bail. Spicer pleaded not guilty Tuesday and was returned to jail.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office investigation began on March 15 after two six-week-old infants were brought to Strong Memorial Hospital. Criminal complaints allege the abuse began on or about February 16. Authorities said both infants suffered brain bleeds and broken bones.
Channel 10 in Rochester reports Douglas is scheduled to return to court in June, while Spicer is due back in court in August.
