The Town of Canandaigua is preparing to launch a new outdoor adventure program aimed at encouraging residents and visitors to explore local parks and learn more about nature.
Town officials announced the Parks and Recreation Patch Program will officially begin Memorial Day weekend. The program invites participants of all ages to complete activities, visit parks, and earn commemorative Town of Canandaigua patches along the way.
Three different patches will be available through the program:
- The “Get Outdoors and Explore” patch, which encourages participants to visit town parks and discover what makes each location unique.
- The “Youth Ranger” patch is designed for younger participants to learn about outdoor safety, wildlife, and environmental stewardship through educational activities.
- The “Senior Ranger” patch, an advanced challenge for ages 13 and older, focused on conservation, outdoor skills, and environmental education.
Town officials said the program is intended to promote outdoor recreation, environmental awareness, and hands-on learning while encouraging families and individuals to spend more time exploring local parks and trails.
Participants may earn patches through activities such as hiking, wildlife observation, and completing educational challenges at town park locations.
