As work wraps up on one Auburn culvert project, officials are planning rehabilitation work on another.
Speaking on FLX Morning, City Clerk Chuck Mason said that work is wrapping up on the Burgess Street culvert project on the city’s south side, adding that the city’s next culvert project will be for the one at Brookside Drive.
Mason added that the Brookside Drive project will be more complex than the Burgess Street project, noting that the Brookside Drive culvert is on a busier street that leads to the commercial area of Grant Ave.
The project will most likely be under the design phase for this year, Mason said, adding that, while construction could start in the fall, it is more likely that construction will start in spring 2027.
Mason said the project is being funded through a Bridge New York grant.
“Now, the good news is, and it’s always good news to read the language in the grant agreements that says that the project will be funded through a Bridge New York grant to the tune of 100%.”
