Auburn Budget Update: Public Hearings set for Thurs, Vote on June 4

Weeks of budget discussions are nearing their conclusion in Auburn.

On Thursday, the Auburn City Council will hold two public hearings related to the city’s 2026-27 fiscal year budget on Thursday. The first will be on a local law allowing the city to exceed the state’s tax cap. The second will be on the proposed city budget. Both hearings will take place during the regularly scheduled city council meeting at 5:00p at City Hall.

Speaking on FLX Morning, City Clerk Chuck Mason said the public hearings will give residents a final chance to weigh in on the proposed budget.

“We’ve heard quite a bit from members of the public over the last six weeks, but it’ll give the members of the public a final opportunity to weigh in on this year’s budgeting document,” said Mason.

Mason added that Council is expected to vote on the budget at its June 4 meeting.

A copy of the proposed budget can be found on the city’s website.
