William Smith senior Michaela Morgan (Oak Ridge/The Woodlands, Texas) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Bowler of the Week by the conference office this afternoon. It’s the second time this season she has won the award.

The Herons hosted the AMCC Round Robin No. 1 at Sunset Bowl on Nov. 16-17. The conference’s eight teams played seven Baker matches in the first step toward earning a berth in the six-team AMCC Championship in March.

Morgan led all bowlers in pins per frame (20.34), fill percentage (85.7%), strike percentage (55.7%), and first ball average (9.09) while leading William Smith to a 5-2 record and a second-place finish.

Morgan was voted the AMCC Preseason Bowler of the Year by the league’s coaches. She rolled a 245 game against Daemen on Oct. 5 to break the William Smith record.

The Herons are 19-16 overall. William Smith has a two-month break from competition and will return to action Jan. 17-19 when it takes on the field in the Northeast Classic in New Castle, Delaware.
