The William Smith field hockey team rallied from a 2-0 first-quarter deficit to tie the game and force overtime, but Union’s Maddie Greco scored in the eighth minute of overtime to lift the visiting Garnet Chargers to a 3-2 Liberty League victory.

Greco swept home the game-winner after Reese Fendelet fired a shot that spun off of Heron first-year goalie Baker Jeremiah’s pads. Fendelet got a goal of her own in the 15th minute while Amy Vytopilova opened the scoring.

William Smith got goals from first-years Eliza Freeland and Caroline Kogut.
