Hobart College senior forward Jackson Meshanic was recently named to the 2022-23 D3hoops.com All-America third team.

Meshanic is the fifth Statesmen to earn All-America recognition from D3hoops.com, the premier website for all things related to Division III basketball. He’s just the second named to the third team, joining Richie Bonney ’14 in 2013-14. Joe Corbett ’03 (2002-03), Rob Pisanelli ’00 (1999-2000) and Stefan Thompson ’13 (2012-13) received honorable mention.

Last week, Meshanic became the first Hobart player to be named the Regional Player of the Year by D3hoops.com. He also earned a spot on the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-America third team, was the Liberty League Player of the Year and garnered first team All-Liberty League recognition.

A starter in all 27 games this season, Meshanic averaged 21.5 points, 10.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game, all of which led Hobart. He ranked in the top 30 in the nation in field goals made (12th, 218), double-doubles (16th, 16), points per game (19th), defensive rebounds per game (19th, 8.52), total points (21st, 580), total rebounds (22nd, 281) and rebounds per game (30th).

Meshanic scored 10 or more points in 28 consecutive games dating back to last season, including a career-high matching 34 points in a win over Skidmore on Nov. 19. He pulled down a career-high matching 17 boards in a win at Bard on Jan. 13 and handed out a career-high matching seven assists in a win over Clarkson on Jan. 20.

One of only five Statesmen to record 1,000 career points and 700 career rebounds, Meshanic logged 1,428 points and 789 rebounds. He holds the Hobart career record for 3-point field goal percentage (.447) as well as the single season mark for field goal percentage (.651 in 2019-20).

A starter in 62 of the 105 games he played for the Statesmen, Meshanic helped Hobart to a 69-40 record in four seasons, including the program’s historic 23-5 record in 2019-20. That season the Statesmen reached the round of 16 for the first time in program history, but their run was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic.
