Lycoming Defeats Keuka Women’s Soccer 2-0

The Keuka College Women’s Soccer team dropped a match on Saturday, losing at Lycoming College 2-0.

Keuka College (1-2) got 10 saves in goal by Elianna Wilder (Victor, N.Y. / Victor).

The host Warriors attacked the Wolves early in the game with Wilder being called upon for multiple saves. Lycoming would break through in the 15th minute to make it 1-0. They looked to widen the margin in the 37th as Lycoming was awarded a penalty kick. Wilder stood tall on her line and the attempt was missed. Lycoming led 1-0 at the half.

The Warriors added to their lead early in the second half. The Wolves had a pair of attempts on goal in the second half, but both were saved. Lycoming held on for the 2-0 victory over Keuka College.

  • The Wolves have not defeated the Wildcats in the last four meetings, but remain ahead of Lycoming 7-4-1 in the all-time series
  • 10 saves by Elianna Wilder was a new career high
  • Parker Lahey (Whitesboro, N.Y. / Whitesboro) and Sam Bates (Holley, N.Y. / Holley) each had a pair of shots on goal for the Wolves
  • There was only one corner kick in the entire game. Lycoming took the attempt in the second half

Up Next for Keuka College: The Wolves return home on Tuesday to host Fredonia State. It will be the first meeting between the Wolves and Blue Devils since the 2003 season. Keuka leads the all-time series 6-3.
