State Senator Rachel May is hoping to cut packaging waste in half over the next decade.

Through her proposed Packaging and Recycling Act, companies would have ten years to reduce their packaging by 50% and transition 90% of the remainder to either recyclable and compostable products or those made from recycled materials.

The act would also eliminate toxins such as lead, PFAs, and formaldehyde from packaging.
