Geneva on the Lake is kicking off spring with a packed lineup of events, including an adult Easter egg hunt, an Italian wine dinner, and a returning Sunday Jazz Brunch — with several happening later this month.

Representatives from the historic Geneva resort stopped by FLX Morning on April 3rd to share details on what’s coming up at 1001 Lochland Road in Geneva.

First on the calendar is the Adult Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19th, from 4 to 6 p.m., with the hunt itself starting at 4:30. The event includes live music by Dennis Wing, a cash bar, a food truck, lawn games, and a bonfire. Tickets are required and can be purchased through the resort’s website or by calling ahead.

The following weekend, on Saturday, April 26th from 6 to 8 p.m., Geneva on the Lake continues its Around the World Wine Dinner Series with an Italian-themed evening. Chef Joe has crafted a set menu to complement the wine pairings, which will feature Italian varietals grown in the Finger Lakes — including a selection from Red Tail Ridge just outside of Geneva — alongside wines from northern Italy. Only about 30 tickets are available for the indoor dinner, and some have already sold, so early booking is encouraged.

Also returning is the Sunday Jazz Brunch, which kicks off this Sunday, April 6th, running from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at $45 per person. The brunch features both hot and cold stations — including salads, yogurt, fruit, pastries, bacon, sausage, a dessert corner, and a served entrée of your choice — along with live music from Dave Solazo and Matthew Becante, both affiliated with the Geneva Jazz Festival. Reservations are strongly recommended.

Geneva on the Lake has operated as a resort since around 1979 or 1980, when the Lochland Road property transitioned from an apartment building to its current role as one of the region’s landmark destinations. For tickets and reservations, visit www.genevaonthelake.com or call 315-789-7190.

Paul Szmal: And good morning and welcome aboard for FLX Morning. It is 7.39 on this Thursday, April the 3rd of 2025 and I have a studio full of guests representing one of the timeless places of the Finger Lakes, Geneva-on-the-Lake. So let me introduce you first to Alexa. Hi. Thank you. Stephanie is here. Good morning. And Sam is here as well. Good morning, Sam. Good morning.

All right. So I guess we'll go ahead and Alexa, we'll start with you. There are a bunch of activities that are happening surrounding Easter at Geneva-on-the-Lake. One of them happens to be the Easter egg hunt. So Alexa, tell us a little bit more about it.

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: Yes. So we are bringing back our adult Easter egg hunt. We're very excited. This is going to happen on Saturday, April 19th from 4 to 6 p.m. The actual egg hunt will start at 4.30. We're going to have live music by Dennis Wing, cash bar, food truck, lawn games, bonfire and just so much fun.

Paul Szmal: I love the idea of an adult Easter egg hunt. I think that's a great thing. What was the purpose for bringing it back? Was it just something that was popular demand or?

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: That and it was successful for us. So I actually personally attended and I'm looking forward to hopefully doing that again this year.

Paul Szmal: Yeah. There you go. It's just so much fun and there's not very many places that do it around here. Are there reservations required for that?

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: Yes. So we do sell tickets. You can go on our website. You can call our phone number and go through our booking engine, which is called Talk.

Paul Szmal: OK. Beautiful. We'll get the phone number and the website here in just a couple of minutes. Stephanie, your turn here. There is a wine dinner that is also part of the Easter activities at Geneva on the lake. What can you tell us about it?

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: Yes. So that dinner is actually the following week. It's going to be April 26th on a Saturday. And it's part of our around the world wine dinner series where we feature a finger lakes and two wines that are of the same style of same grape varietal from around the world.

Oh, yeah. The one we are doing in April is actually going to be Italian varietals.

Oh, yes. We have some Italian grapes that grow in the finger lakes. We selected Red Tail Ridge just outside of Geneva.

Paul Szmal: Oh, OK. Yes. Familiar with them. Excellent. Excellent. Excellent wine. Reservations required, obviously.

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: Absolutely. So we are hosting the dinner inside and we only have about 30 tickets available. We already started selling.

Paul Szmal: OK. So if people are interested, they need to book.

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: OK. Beautiful. Beautiful. All right. Now we're going to move over to Sam because Sam is going to tell us about the Saturday Jazz Brunch or the Sunday Jazz Brunch, I should say.

Paul Szmal: Right. Get my day right. So, Sam, tell us a little bit about the Sunday Jazz Brunch that's coming up.

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: So we're going to have our Sunday Jazz Brunch starting back up this Sunday. And that goes from 9 in the morning to 1, $45 a person. And that features both hot and cold stations and live music, which we're really excited to bring back because it was successful actually last year.

Paul Szmal: Yeah. The assorted salads, yogurt, fruit, granola, honey, jam and bananas, croissants, bagels, baguettes, cream cheese, bacon, sausage, a dessert corner. And by the way, that also comes with a served entree of your choice.

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: Correct. Plus, there's like pancakes and even Eggs Benedict available. So there's a wide variety of food. If you go to this event hungry and leave hungry, we can't help you.

Paul Szmal: Right. How long has Geneva-on-the-Lake been in business now? It seems like it's been a staple institution around our area for a good long time.

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: I believe since 1979, 1980. OK. I think was when it went from being an apartment building to the actual resort.

Paul Szmal: Right. Right. And it's great to have these activities back, but we've talked about three activities. We need to give people the website and the phone number so that they can make the reservations either to get their tickets for the adult Easter egg hunt or make your reservations for the Around the World Wine Dinner Series. Or I imagine the brunch is also a reservation required.

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: It's strongly recommended.

Paul Szmal: Strongly recommended. Yeah. Anytime anybody says strongly recommended, just do it. It saves a lot of time and hassle and aggravation. So what's the website address?

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: www.genevonthelake.com. We also, so you can come in person. Our address is 1001 Lachlan Road right here in Geneva. You can call. Our phone number is 315-789-7190. And our website and our social media pages are constantly updated with all of the fun things that we have going on.

Paul Szmal: All right. So again, let's recap. First, the Easter egg hunt, the adult Easter egg hunt. When is that happening?

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: That is Saturday, April 19th.

Paul Szmal: Okay. And that is what time?

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: 4 to 6 p.m.

Paul Szmal: Beautiful. And tickets are available for that now. And then the Around the World Wine Dinner is the following weekend?

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: Yes. April 26th. 6 to 8.

Paul Szmal: Okay. 6 until 8. We know what, is this dinner a set menu or is it ordering off the existing menu? Is it stuff that's paired with the wines?

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: It is a set menu because I work with a very talented even chef, Joe. And he came up with an Italian theme dinner. It really went down the rabbit hole like he used to do.

Paul Szmal: Ah. Okay. I had a feeling because usually if you're doing a specific wine pairing, there's a certain foods that will go with specific wines.

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: Correct. So that is fantastic. So you can get your Italian on for sure.

Oh yes. And enjoy the wines from not only here but a couple of other different places as well.

From Italy actually.

From the northern part of Italy which is also a cooler climate.

Paul Szmal: Ah. Wonderful. So you get to try some Italian wine while you're at it.

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: Yes. And then of course we have the Jazz Brunch on Sunday. That event is coming up. What's the date for that again?

It's on the 6th. This Sunday.

Paul Szmal: Okay. So the Jazz Brunch is coming up this Sunday. A whole boatload of stuff that you can enjoy eating. Like I said, come hungry because you will definitely get your fill. And who is the entertainment again that was?

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: So I think there's two.

Paul Szmal: Okay. So it's Dave Salazzo and Matthew Baconte and they're part of the Geneva Jazz Festival.

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: Oh wonderful. Wonderful. So you'll get some great music and enjoy and of course fantastic atmosphere at Geneva on the lake. I had a chance to go to an outdoor event there this summer and the place is just sparkling.

Absolutely beautiful.

Paul Szmal: Ladies, thank you very much for coming in and joining us and giving us all the information this morning. We certainly appreciate it.

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: Thank you. Thank you for having us.

Paul Szmal: Alright. So again, what's the website again if people want to find out more?

Paul Szmal: Fantastic. Alright. Have a great day ladies. Thank you for stopping in.

Alexa, Stephanie, Sam: Thank you. You too. Much appreciated.
