  • An overview of the biology curriculum, with an increasing emphasis on biotechnology.
  • FLCC entered the national ⁠⁠BioMade BUILD⁠⁠ contest, launched by the US Defense Department to come up with new food sources in the wake of COVID supply chain disruptions and was awarded $100.000 to take part, the only community college so honored.
  • FLCC will work with ⁠⁠Empire Medicinals⁠⁠ and the ⁠⁠National Corn-to-Ethanol Research Center⁠⁠ to develop a low cost, high nutrition food additive from mushroom mycelia.
  • FLCC is currently testing the process to confirm that it’s commercially viable.
