Vytautas A Suziedelis
Vytautas (Vito) A. Suziedelis of Naples, FL, died on April 17, 2026. He was born in Kaunas, Lithuania, in the family of Simas and Antanina Suziedelis, highly respected educators in Lithuania. The Suziedelis family immigrated to the United States after World War II in 1948 and settled in Brockton, MA.
Vito was preceded in death by his parents, wife Birute O. (Bobby) Suziedelis, and his brother Eligijus of Abington, MA. He is survived by his brothers Antanas of Annapolis, MD, Remigijus of Estero, FL, Saulius of Lancaster, PA, and by six nephews and nieces.
After graduating from Northeastern University (BSME) and from New York University (MME) in 1955, Vito joined Stone & Webster (S&W) in Boston, MA. S&W specialized in designing and constructing industrial projects worldwide, primarily electric power plants, refineries, and petrochemical facilities. His career with this company extended over 30 years. He served as Project Engineer on the design of several fossil and nuclear power plants and later, as Engineering Manager, had the principal responsibility for staffing and supervision of ongoing engineering projects in the company’s headquarters and at satellite offices in the United States. Vito retired as Director and Executive Vice President in 1986 to pursue his interest in legal consulting and in the aircraft charter business. S&W was later acquired in 2000 by Shaw Group Inc.
He had a lifelong interest in aviation since his college days and logged over 5,000 flight hours of piloting experience in personal flying, flight instruction, and charter operations. Vito was an avid supporter for several years of our local airport as an officer and director of Friends of the Naples Municipal Airport and a member of the Naples Pilots Association. After retirement, he joined the Pelican Isle Yacht Club at Wiggins Pass and enjoyed many years of boat cruising in the Gulf and throughout South Florida’s inland waters.
Vito and his wife lived in Pelican Bay as permanent residents from 1990 through 2014 and actively participated in the local community affairs. In 2015, they joined the Bentley Village retirement community in North Naples. Vito and Bobby were members of St. William Catholic Parish. A Funeral Mass for him will be offered at the parish church on Seagate Drive in North Naples on Thursday, April 20th, 2026, at 10:00 AM. Internment at Naples Memorial Gardens will be private.
