Tammy L. Richardson
Tammy L. Richardson, 60, of Port Byron, passed away on April 17, 2026, at Auburn Community Hospital. Born in Auburn, NY, on September 30, 1965, Tammy was the youngest of twelve children born to the late Calvin and Mary (Arliss) Cook.
Tammy was the true heart of our family, dedicating her life to being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Tammy graduated from Port Byron in 1983. She worked for the school in food service for most of her life, as well as being a homemaker. Her house was always full of her nieces and nephews and, in later years, grandchildren. She loved being in the woods with her dad and playing softball with her family. She always made sure everyone was taken care of. She will be greatly missed beyond words.
Tammy is survived by her loving husband, Melvin Richardson IV; her children, Jacqueline (Rob Bennett) Johnson and Melvin V (Chelsey) Richardson; her siblings, Charles (Candis) Cook, Ricky Cook, Bruce Cook, Tommy (Gina) Cook, Gary (Wendy) Cook, Diane Lofft, Jill Cook, Marylou Hodson, and Cheryl (William) Blackman; her grandchildren, Gabriella Turo, Ellie Church, Melvin Richardson VI, and Calvin Richardson, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, Tammy was predeceased by her siblings, Jimmy Cook and LouAnn Snyder; her brothers-in-law, Bobby Hodson and Chris Lofft; her first husband, Samuel VanDitto Johnson; and her mother-in-law, MaryAnn Johnson.
Calling hours for Tammy will be held on Friday, April 24th, from 10 AM to noon in White Chapel Funeral Home, 2719 Erie Drive, Weedsport. A funeral service will follow at noon in the funeral home, with burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Port Byron.
