Tamara J. “Tammy” (France) Spencer

Tamara J. “Tammy” (France) Spencer, 78, of Hornell, formerly a long-time resident of Canaseraga, NY, entered into rest Monday morning (April 13, 2026) at St. James Hospital in Hornell, after a long illness.

Born in North Hornell on July 27, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Jesse and Bernice (Mess) France. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by two brothers, Michael France and Steve France.

A resident of Canaseraga most of her life, Tammy was a graduate of Canaseraga Central School and has resided in Hornell for about the past six years.

Throughout the years, she was employed in the office of Dr. Mario Argentieri in Hornell, Mastin’s Food Market in Canaseraga, and retired from the Wayland-Cohocton Central School District.

Tammy was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and baking. Most of all, she loved spending time with her “grand babies.”

She is lovingly survived by one son, Christopher (Keri) Spencer of Hornell; four grandchildren, Madison LaClair, Donald LaClair, Autumn Spencer, and Carter Spencer; one sister, Tina France of Canaseraga; two brothers, Gary France of Canaseraga and Douglas (Cindy) France of Arkport, NY; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

To honor her wishes, there will be no calling hour or funeral service.
