Rose ‘Babe’ Marie Learo
Rose Marie "Babe" Learo passed away on April 11, 2026, after a brief illness. She was born March 28, 1940, in Auburn, NY, the beloved daughter of Sophie (Mierzwaizro) and Joseph Fiore.
To know Rose was to feel seen, welcomed, and loved. She had a way about her that couldn’t be taught, a natural warmth, a radiant smile, and a laugh that filled a room and stayed with you long after she left it. She didn’t just attend life’s moments; she elevated them. Whether it was a holiday, a Sunday dinner, or a simple afternoon visit, Rose made everything feel special. She wasn’t just the life of the party; she was the heart of it.
Her greatest happiness came from caring for others. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, her home a place of gathering, and her table always had room for one more. She showed her love in the meals she prepared, the traditions she kept, and the memories she created with family and friends. Those moments, simple on the surface, became the ones people held onto the longest.
Her love of travel carried her far beyond familiar places, taking her on countless adventures together filled with laughter, discovery, and unforgettable moments. Whether it was a spontaneous getaway or a carefully planned trip, Rose and Dick embraced every journey with excitement and curiosity, turning each destination into another cherished memory. She didn’t just visit places; she experienced them, collecting stories, friendships, and joy along the way, all reflections of a life truly lived to the fullest.
Rose is survived by her devoted companion of 13 years, Richard “Dick” Stark, with whom she shared a truly special bond. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and companionship, finding joy in both life’s grand adventures and its quiet, everyday moments. Their connection was one of deep understanding, unwavering support, and genuine happiness, a partnership that brought comfort and light to them both.
She is also survived by her children: Michael Morabito (Amy), Terry Guzewicz, Richard Morabito (Karin), TJ Morabito, Jason Learo, and stepdaughter Susan Johnson; her grandchildren: Briana, Bobby, Tony, Nicole (Joe), Colby, Vicci (Chris), and Bryce; and her great-grandchildren: Vivienne, Vera, and Beckett. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Sonny Morabito and Gerald Learo; and her beloved siblings: Angelina "Pearl" (Frank) Morabito, Mary (Peter) Colella, Sam "Jet" (Sally) Fiore, and Francis "Frank" Romeo-Fiore.
For many years, Rose dedicated herself to her work at General Electric and Auburn Dental, where she was known not only for her tireless work ethic but for the warmth and kindness she extended to every person she encountered. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and a life poured out generously for others. She taught those around her to celebrate every moment and to always lead with a full heart. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.
A calling hour will be held this Saturday, April 18th, from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM, with her mass of Christian burial to immediately follow, all inside of St. Francis of Assisi Church, 299 Clark St., Auburn.
