WATERLOO – Ronald M. Serven, 79, of Waterloo, NY, died Friday, March 27, 2026, at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY.

In keeping with the wishes of the family, there will be no calling hours or services. A family memorial service will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.

Ron was born November 15, 1946, in Lyons, NY, the son of Mervin and Mary Rose Shepard Serven. He graduated from Waterloo Central High School. Ron was the third generation of dairy and crop farmers at Serven Farms until his retirement. He was a life member of the Junius Volunteer Fire Department and sponsored several antique tractor pulls. He was a councilman on the Junius Town Board and served as supervisor for one term. He married Kathy Cottrell in 1972 and they were blessed with three children: George Serven, Daniel (Rebecca) Serven, and Janice Serven.

He is survived by his wife Kathy; sons George and Daniel (Rebecca); grandchildren Samantha and Patrick Serven; sister Judy (Dominic) Gregori; cousins Christina (Mark) Ferguson and Melissa (Jason) Mosher; brother-in-law James G. Patsos, Jr.; and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Ron was predeceased by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law Erich and Catherine Cottrell; daughter Janice Serven; sister-in-law Debbie Patsos; and nephew Matthew Patsos.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff in the ICU and Hospice Units for their excellent care and also to JoAnn Bennett for her dedicated help for several years.
