Newark—Robert A. Rapp, 80, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the Wayne County Nursing Home with family by his side. Family and friends may call from 11 AM - 1 PM on Saturday, April 11, at Paul L. Murphy & Sons Funeral Home, 127 E. Miller St., Newark. A service will follow at 1 PM, with burial at the Fairville Cemetery.

Robert was born November 22, 1945, in Rochester to the late Chester and Eleanor Rapp. He earned a BBA from St. John Fisher, proudly served 2 tours in Vietnam with the U.S. Navy, and retired as a New York State auditor. In retirement, he invested in real estate, enjoyed antiquing, sailing, music, movies, and traveling with his family. He was known for his love of a good dad joke.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Sharon; daughters Krystal and Jennifer Rapp; grandson Anthony James "AJ" Merced; brother Chester (Terri) Rapp; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother, Ronald Rapp.
