Robert J. "Bobby" Hill

Wayland, NY October 13, 1956 – April 28, 2026 Age 69

With deep sadness, the family of Robert J. “Bobby” Hill announces his passing on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, following a brief illness.

Bobby was a hardworking man who rarely sat still. He took great pride in everything he did, and that pride was evident in both his work and in the many people he mentored along the way, teaching them to do things his way.

He was a devoted brother who loved his nieces and nephews dearly.

Bobby was predeceased by his father, Frederick Hill; his brother, Charles Hill; and his longtime partner, Robin Matthews, who passed away in January of this year.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Hill; his brother, Ronald W. (Sharon) Hill; his nieces and nephews, Christine, Michelle, Hollie, Frederick (Debbie), Ashley, Crystal, Brandy, Terry (Laurie), Tonya, Lea, Jamie, Jesse, and Alan; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Bobby was truly one of a kind, and his presence will be deeply missed.

Friends and family are invited to call from 4 PM to 7 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the Walter E. Baird & Sons Funeral Home in Wayland. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
