Robert ‘Bob’ A. Alnutt Sr.
Robert (Bob) A. Alnutt, Sr., 84, of Montezuma, New York, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Born on March 18, 1942, in Auburn, New York, Bob was the son of Wilfred & Ruth Alnutt. He attended Union Springs Central School. Bob married the love of his life, Sharon Bibbens, in 1964, and together they raised two children. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather & GG. He was known for his kindness, quick wit, and his willingness to help any and all. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and he cherished his granddaughter and great-grandchildren.
A man who found his calling behind the wheel, Bob spent his career as a dedicated truck driver. He began his journey at Cayuga Bulk Trucking in Cayuga, before moving on to Stott and Davis Motor Express, where he spent 25 years of hard work and dependable service. He was a past member of the Aurelius Fire Department. Even in his later years, he couldn’t stay away from the driver’s seat, continuing his passion for the road with O’Hara Farms / Aurora Oakwood Dairy. Every road he traveled led him home.
When he wasn’t working, Bob’s heart belonged to the history of the land. He was a proud and active member of the Finger Lakes Antique Power Tractor Club, where he shared his love for vintage machinery and agricultural heritage with fellow enthusiasts.
Bob is survived by wife Sharon, daughter Molly Sue (Heinrich) Kirschner, son Robert (Robbie) Alnutt, Jr. (Brenda Mitchell), grandchildren Jennifer (William) Stoddard, great-grandchildren Juliana and Hunter Stoddard, and several special nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved fur baby Ester. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Wilfred (Buddy) Alnutt, sisters Gloria Mills & Bea Conklin, and brother Donnie Alnutt.
Calling hours will be held at Pettigrass Funeral Home on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 1-3:30 PM with a service immediately following. Friends and family are invited to the Sunset Restaurant on N. Division St., following the services.
