Melissa Frances Haas - Litzenberger
SENECA FALLS – Melissa F. Haas – Litzenberger, 59, passed away Sunday (April 19, 2026) in Strong Memorial Hospital with family by her side.
Family and friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday (May 2) at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 81 W. Bayard St., Seneca Falls, NY. The memorial service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. in the church with Rev. James Fennesy officiating. Burial will be at Springbrook Cemetery, Seneca Falls, at a later date.

Melissa was born February 14, 1967, in Seneca Falls, NY, the daughter of Kenneth F., Jr. and Anna Marie Reynolds Haas. She was a 1986 graduate of Mynderse Academy. Melissa graduated as an LPN in 1989 from the Auburn Adult BOCES program. She also graduated in 1996 from the H & R Block Tax Prep and Bookkeeping program. Her LPN led her into careers from Willard Psychiatric Hospital to Dermatology Associates of Rochester, eventually as a private duty nurse for many area families. She also used her LPN degree volunteering for the American Red Cross teaching CPR. Melissa continued to show her compassion and care for others as a volunteer for the Seneca Ambulance Corps. She attended church at St. Patrick's Catholic Church and Trinity Episcopal Church. Melissa enjoyed baking, sewing, quilting, knitting, and crocheting.
She is survived by her daughter Rebecca Haas – Litzenberger of Seneca Falls, NY; brothers Andrew Haas of Waterloo, NY, Christopher (Clare) Haas of Weedsport, NY, and Kenneth J. Haas of Seneca Falls, NY; aunt Kathleen (Daniel) Staunton of Kalamazoo, MI; cousins Doug and Margo Staunton and their children Captain and Sierra; Melissa's Godmother and very special friend Jean Cosentino of Seneca Falls, NY; very special friends Rebecca S. Smith of Seneca Falls, NY, Tina Marie Belknap of Mattydale, NY, and Greg and Michelle Dugan and their daughters Aryanna, Keara, and Isabella.
Melissa was predeceased by her parents; paternal grandparents Kenneth F., Sr. and Margaret Haas; and maternal grandparents John F. and Ellen R. Reynolds.
