Mary E. Merritt

Williamson - Mary E. Merritt, 83, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Mary was born the daughter of the late Frederick and C. Lucille (Overmyer) Newman on Friday, August 14, 1942, in Rochester, New York. She was a graduate of John Marshall High School. Mary wore many professional hats throughout her life and was a very active member of her community, as well as a lifelong learner. She was a member of the Ontario-Walworth Rotary Club, the Red Hat Society, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, serving on several committees within those organizations. Mary enjoyed quilting, sewing, crafting, and, most of all, spending time with her family.

Mary will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Laurie (John) Sammis, Linda (Mark) Taylor, Tamara Clingan, and her son, Richard (Donni) Weaver; her grandchildren, Samantha (Clay) Aggeles, Peter Sammis, Katlyn (Thomas) Baumhover, and Matthew Clingan.

Mary was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Weaver; her second husband, Roy Merritt; and her son, Edward Weaver Jr.

The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Young Funeral Home, 4025 Ridge Road, Williamson, NY.
