Marilyn Templeton

Marilyn (Lynne) Alice Elmer Templeton passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026. Born in Tully, NY, and raised in the Rome area, Lynne made Honeoye Falls her home for over five decades. It was at Genesee Hospital where she met her husband, Dr. Richard Templeton, and together they built a life centered on faith and family.

After years dedicated to raising her children, Lynne returned to her passion for healthcare. She served as a school nurse and later as a charge nurse in area nursing homes, roles that brought her great fulfillment. Beyond her professional life, she was a cornerstone of the Mendon Church and a tireless volunteer. Whether helping a neighbor or supporting her grandchildren, Lynne connected deeply with everyone she met. Her life was defined by a spirit of service, and she will be missed beyond words.

Lynne was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Richard Templeton. She is survived by her children: Tracy (Bill) Redman, Bradford (Karie) Templeton, Adam (Stephanie) Templeton, and Merrick (Lisa) Counsel. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Doug (Amy) Templeton, Andrew (Lydia) Redman, Alissa Redman, Amanda Redman, Olivia Templeton (Declan), and Jonathan Templeton; and her great-grandchildren, Clark and Rose Templeton.

Friends may call Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 4-7 pm at the Merton H. Kays Funeral Home, Inc., 59 Monroe Street, Honeoye Falls. Her service will be held Friday, May 15, at 11 am at Westminster Hall and Chapel in Mendon. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to Rochester Parkinson Network or Lifetime Care (hospice).
