Marie A. McCarthy, age 66, of Geneva, and formerly of Penn Yan, passed away April 14, 2026, at the Geneva Living Center.

Marie was predeceased by her parents, as well as her sister Elizabeth Barley, brother John McCarthy, and special friend Steve. She worked in the medical field for many years and became an LPN in 1993.

She is survived by her two children, Mary Ann (Doug) Cornell of Campbell, and Billy Hand of Penn Yan; and 6 brothers and sisters, Joe McCarthy of Himrod, Sharon (Donald) Elwell of Penn Yan, Deb Kaiser (Kelly Crantz) of Washington, Sandra (Steve) Johnston of Farmington, Rick McCarthy of Prattsburgh, and James (Sandra) McCarthy of North Carolina; 7 grandchildren Elaina Cornell (Kerri Deyo), JT (Makenzie) Campbell, Reagan (Johnny) Jordain, Liam Hand, Brayden Campbell, MacKenna Wilson, and Adalynn Cornell; 2 great-grandchildren Kaslin and Maverick Jordain; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive friends and relatives at Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St., Penn Yan on Wednesday (April 22nd) from 5-6 PM; followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
