Lawrence E. Charette

Lawrence E. “Larry” Charette, 76, of 107 East Genesee Street, Auburn, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Auburn Community Hospital.

Larry was born in Malone, New York, the son of Joseph and Genevieve Debiaw Charette. The family relocated to Auburn, and Larry graduated from Auburn’s West High School with the Class of 1968.

He married Maryann Wilkinson in 1968, and they raised four children. Larry retired from New York State Corrections, Auburn, with thirty-five years of service as a Weapons Training Officer. An avid outdoorsman, he always loved hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Maryann W. Charette, and their children: Eric (Angella) Charette, Weedsport; Carrie Charette, Moravia; Kelly Charette (Kevin Malone), Auburn; and David Charette (Kristi), Auburn; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three sisters: Debra Rose (Doug), Weedsport; Roberta Harvey, Auburn; and Lynne Charette, Ontario, Canada; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Joseph Charette.
