Lawrence Ward Carlisle

Newfield, NY August 15, 1939 – January 18, 2026 Age 86

Lawrence Ward Carlisle of Newfield passed away unexpectedly at Robert Packer Hospital on January 18, 2026, at the age of 86.

Larry was born in Ithaca on August 15, 1939, a son of the late Floyd and Isabella (Eaton) Carlisle. He worked for over 30 years at Lansing Research prior to his retirement. Larry also served as an Enfield Volunteer Firefighter for many years.

Larry is survived by four children, Peggy Richards, Larry (Valerie) Carlisle, Tammy (Paul Kotzer) Alling, and Beth (Mark) Veasey; ten grandchildren, Michael Baker, Cory (Camie) Richards, Michelle (Jon) Hubbell, Kayli Carlisle, Kelsi Carlisle, Shelbi (Travis Wylie) Alling, Christopher Veasey, Trevor (Brianna Leonard) Alling, Adelia (Brandyn Brewster) Alling, and Emma Veasey; twelve great-grandchildren, Jackson, Benjamin, Carol, Collette, Payton, Jolene, Viviana, Aubree, Jacquelyn, Leif, Ember, and Lucille; siblings, Lorraine (Wayne) Jennings and Michael (Janet) Carlisle; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Susan Carlisle; and siblings, Gale, Kenneth, and Robert Carlisle, and Joyce Davis.

The family will be present to receive friends from 11:30 to Noon on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Ithaca First Assembly of God Church, 197 Bostwick Road, Ithaca. A Memorial Service will immediately begin at Noon at the church.
