John W. Dingledein

GENEVA – John W. Dingledein, age 86, formerly of Geneva, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Clifton Springs Nursing Home surrounded by his stepdaughter, Sherry Higgins, and granddaughter, Delaney Higgins.

A graveside service will be in Glenwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

John was born in Ithaca, NY, and had resided in Geneva for many years. He was the son of the late Jon and Carolyn Dates Dingledein. John retired as a postal carrier for the US Post Office in Geneva, where he worked for over 36 years. Following his retirement, John was employed at the Finger Lakes Race Track.

He is survived by his son, John Dingledein of Geneva; his stepdaughter, Sherry (John) Higgins of Geneva; his granddaughter, Delaney Higgins of Oswego; his sister, Sharon DeSarno of CA; his grandchildren, Bradley, Joseph, and Kevin Dingledein; and his nephews, Sam and Marcus DeSarno.

He was predeceased by his wife, Marjorie Larsen Vose Dingledein; his stepson, Earnest Vose; and his brother, Louis Dingledein.
