James A. Renwand Jr.
James A. Renwand Jr., age 69, of Greenwood, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, at Maple City Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.
Born on October 17, 1956, in Hornell, Jim was the son of the late James A. & Kathryn (Parker) Renwand Sr. He was a man deeply connected to the outdoors, finding great joy in hunting, fishing, and caring for the land he loved so much. Jim often referred to his farm as his “paradise,” a place where he took pride in tending to both the land and the many animals he cherished—from horses and chickens to his beloved dogs.
Jim was also a dedicated public servant who cared deeply about his community. For many years, he served as the director of the Dansville Ambulance Base, where he responded to over 2,500 emergency calls. His commitment, compassion, and steady presence made a lasting impact on countless lives.
In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his siblings, Carol Carpenter, Joe Renwand, & Jerry Renwand; his partner & mother of James, Bonnie Woollett; and his brother-in-law Buddy Getman.
He is survived by his loving wife, Wendy, who was his partner in all things; his children, James (Melinda) Renwand III, Michele (Ed) Johnston, Shawn (Heidi) Woollett, and Nate (Jackie) Woollett; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy. He is also survived by his sisters, Carla (Gerry) Brzezinski and Cindy (Getman), along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will fondly remember his kindness & strength.
A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date and will be announced.
